Paving the path to a brighter future
What in the world is a recovery community organization?
The short answer is: We Are!
The succinct answer is:
A #recovery community organization (RCO) is an independent, non-profit organization led and governed by representatives of local communities of recovery including :
People in long-term recovery from #substance use disorder • Family members • Friends • Recovery-focused addiction and recovery professionals • Organizations that reflect religious, spiritual and secular pathways of recovery • Allies • Business owners • Law enforcement • Others in the community who want to help
These organizations:
organize recovery-focused policy advocacy activities,
carry out recovery-focused community education and outreach programs, and/or
provide peer-based recovery support services
Currently, there are more than 200 RCOs nationwide. The RCO movement in Florida is growing daily with over 20 RCOs in development. We are excited that Flagler County is a part of the movement. Join our mailing list today!
